The 1966 JG calls for a pulley having double belt grooves, the underside should be smooth.
Mention is made the repro's have a groove on this underside between the two pulley tracks. ....
Ron -- heres' a pic of the smooth underside of a '65 396 '480' pulley, which I believe is undetectable from the '66 version. If you run your index finger (if pulley on car), you feel no 'backside' of the grooves. Other small block pulleys you feel at least the mirror image of the #2 groove, due to the method of manufacture. [ie. whether outer groove was an annulus slipped over the inner 'cone' and tack welded, or some similar explanation .
Hi Wayne, thanks for posting this, identical to the smooth 427 pulley I have, not sure about the reference to small block having groove as the JG referenced the groove on repop 427 pulley's.
