Current Carb Restoration Experts for cars going to judging
Re: Current Carb Restoration Experts for cars going to judging
Lars email is V8FastCars@msn.com contact him for rebuilds or his tech papers on Carbuetors or Disturbutors.
Has mentioned, he only rebuilds carbuetors he also rebuilds distributors. I've never heard of any problems with his work.
He a straight up guy, if there's a problem with your carb he'll tell you.
I've had him a rebuild a carb for me also, then I had it rebuilt by Cliff Ruggles, I wanted the carb (replated) restored.
Cliff had a year backlog at the time. Lars also recommends Ole's in California.

A little hint on talking to all of the restoration guys for various projects. Try contacting them the old fashion way. Pick up the phone.
Email invention is a wonderful thing guys but not the worlds answer. You need to talk with the man. Not type away with two fingers.
Nothing like looking at 30-40 emails all with questions. Emails have made life more difficult. Phone calls get fast results with questions answered. Emails do not.
Re: Current Carb Restoration Experts for cars going to judging
It takes a shop that is well equipped to do carburetors. An individual would be hard pressed to duplicate their work. I'm in the midst of rebuilding a 69 tri-power set for my son, and gosh I wish I had the means to do a good job - specially on the cosmetics. His center carb is all black through the main Venturi body area. I've tried a number of cleaners that just won't even touch it, and I'm not about use my Dremel tools. My son says it's ok as, even though the car is an L-89 that was judged a number of years ago, he considers it a #2 car anyway. But then, a new set is available if you have the big bucks for it.
