    1969 350/350 exhaust manifold nuts

I have a 350/350 with original side exhaust that I am doing a frame off restoration. While disassembling the side exhaust pipes from the manifold, one side has the traditional self locking type nuts and the other side has the brass nuts. Can not remember which side had brass and which had the steel. To be correct for judging, which should I use when putting the car back together? Could not find an explicate answer in past Forums. Thanks for any information, Steve.

    Bras nuts are not factory.
