This is a last ditch effort. I am looking for a Steering Wheel Hub for my 1967 Corvette with a Standard Column.
P/N 3900579. All the usual vendors seem to have imported hubs. I am looking for NOS/OEM
Hoping maybe someone can give me a lead. Help is appreciated.
The #3900579 was replaced by #3923697 somewhere around May of 1969. The P & A catalogs also list this part number as correct for a '68 Corvette with the telescopic steering, but not the standard wheel which requires #3923696.

Yes, and the GM #3923697 was discontinued without supercession in September, 1981. However, while the 3923697 is a functional replacement for 1967 with standard column, I vaguely recall that there is some difference, maybe a bit shorter or longer than the 3900579.

By any chance was the steering wheel hub used on any other model car. Nova, Corvair?

Ralph,
My 1967 Chevrolet Parts Catalog (Apr. 1967) lists 3900579 in Gr. 6.512 for only the 67 Corvette.
However, my 1967 & 1969 Corvair-Chevy II--Chevelle-Camaro Parts Catalogs (Oct. 1966 & Oct. 1968) list GM # 3900579 for the following:
67 CHEVELLE, CHEVY II w/wood grain wheel.
The newer part #3923697 also shows application for the 1967 Chevelle, Chevy II with the wood grain steering wheel,
additionally -- 1968 Chevelle with wood grain steering wheel.
As Joe pointed out there may be some minor difference from the original to the replacement number; quite often, not readily visible when comparing the two pieces.

The 3923697 was SERVICE-only with respect to the 1967 models. It replaced earlier part numbers.
Found a 3930062 hub on eBay. Will it be a perfect replacement for my 1967 Corvette?
Ralph------
GM #3930062 was originally cataloged for 1968 passenger car with wood grain steering wheel (i.e N-34). It was never cataloged for a Corvette.
It is true that the 3930062 was discontinued in December, 1977 and replaced by the GM #3923697, the same part which replaced the GM #3900579 used for 1967 Corvettes. However, that relationship does not necessarily mean that the 3930062 can be used to replace the 3900579. I do expect that it will work but I highly doubt that it will be exactly the same in every aspect of configuration.
The hub listed currently on the Ebay auction (not mine, see link below) as a 67 Corvette hub is NOT. The number on it is "3937896" which is listed in my vintage parts catalogs for 1969 Chevrolets w/wood grain wheel and 1969-1972 Corvettes. It's always good to ask questions when Ebay auction have incomplete descriptions. It's also good to have a library of vintage Chevrolet parts catalogs.

Dave, thanks for confirming the ebay linked Hub is NOT a Corvette Hub.
I did find another ebay listed hub for a 67-68 Nova or Chevelle, p/n 3923697. Would this one be a good replacement? It looks correct.
Have sent seller a list of questions.

Ralph,
The hub in the Ebay auction that I referenced is not an original 67 Corvette hub but it is a 69-72 Corvette hub etal.
