What is the original finish on the two brackets mounted to the muncie housing for the 4 spd. lock out cable?

Bill, the ones from my 69 have a good layer of surface rust on them, so I would imagine they're natural? Maybe silver cad, but I kind of doubt it.

I am leaning towards natural metal finish.

I see no evidence of any plating on either bracket. I just wanted to confirm.

Well, you got me curious, so I pulled one of the brackets (which I don't think has ever been off the car), and took a picture of the back side. I think we're right... natural. And note the "A" stamped on the bracket as well.
