Need guidance: I have a set of 5 steel original wheels. Just got them sand blaster but feel they may leak air because of the above average pitting. Does anyone have advice on a source who will restore these wheel? I feel this would be better than buying others. Open to any recommendations.
Are you concerned that it will leak along where the bead seats because of the pitting? A simple solution is to use tubes. Not judging-correct, but an option. Some will raise the concern about excessive heat because of the tube. That shouldn't be a problem unless you are driving some rather significant distances in pretty warm weather.
Should I put some type of metal filler in the pitting to make them look smoother on the powder coating. And if so does anyone recomend a good metal filler that can be sanded smooth and not affect the powder coating process.

Eric,
I used JB Weld to fill pitting holes in some rims I have restored. I filled the holes, let the epoxy dry and sanded them smooth. I sanded them up 600 grit using wet/dry sandpaper.
After sanding I had them powder coated. They have been holding air for 3 years now without a problem.
