67' master cylinder and steering box finishes

Were both of these bar cast metal from the factory? If I do paint them black what color black are people using; Gloss, semi gloss, high temp resistant??

Dave, semi gloss should cover both, understand the gloss factor is subjective. Heat resistance is not necessary.
