    1961 seat hardware

I am redoing the seat rails and support brackets on my '61. I know the rails are cad plated. What about the rear seat support brackets that are bolted to the floor. Are they cad plated also? CC web site on parts shows what looks like black paint.

I checked the seats from my '62. The back bracket appears to have the same plating as the seat rails. The back brackets were installed on the assembly line prior to the car being painted. So, the top of the brackets wound up being body color. IMO, it's not absolutely necessary to plate the brackets a good corrosion resistant epoxy primer would suffice and paint the tops body color.

Thanks, Erich. I decided to clean the brackets, prime them and paint them body color. I doubt that the NCRS judges look for these and I have already had the car judged at the Regional level. I just want them to look OK for the next owner.
