I would expect to see a late '68 on a first week '69 alternator. '69 alternators are very hard to find. Also I would expect that most parts were dated the same way.

It depends whether you're referring to the standard rally wheel hub caps OR the optional deluxe full wheel covers. The rally wheel hubcaps have the words "Chevrolet Motor Division" embossed around the center of the cap and NO crossed-flags, at all. The deluxe wheel covers cover the entire wheel with a "turbine-like" pattern and the centers have crossed flags. The standard rally wheel hub caps were used from 1968-82. The optional deluxe full wheel covers were available from 1968 to 1973.

The 1969 alternator configuration is unique to 1969 and, as Dick mentions, is VERY hard to find---probably the most difficult of any Corvette alternator. If you have any questions about yours, post photos of the back of the rear case half and front of the forward case half (with pulley removed).

Joe thanks for the response that answers my question re: Hub caps mine are the standard ones. As for the alternator I found one from a 68, 1100693 7F19 12 V NEG 37 AMP. I guess that wouldn't impress any judges!

It wouldn't even work for a 1969 without modifications to the car's electrical system. The 1968 alternator is an external regulator, DN series alternator. 1969 Corvettes were among the first to use the internal regulator, SI series alternators.
