    1964 Gas lid door question

I've seen two different right flags on 64 Gas door lids and wondering which is correct for judging. Is the first black square or white square correct? I appreciate your help in advance.

Re: 1964 Gas lid door question

Joe, here are some originals. Now the question of what is at top left, white or black, is beyond me. Know others have raised these points before, but not sure if a definite answer was reached.
Looking at back side of yours, note the three weld marks on the latch support. Other tell tale signs would be the number on the chrome frame at the hinge area back side.

The indent in center of back is characteristic of later C2's Those small rivets (they are not however) like items which hold the cover on are part of the chrome bezel and as such usually do not have a hole in the center like a rivet, but are solid.

Alan, Thanks for the information, I appreciate it. I just wanted to make sure what's original vs reproduction. Thanks, Joe
