Has anyone experienced the cove trim on the right side of car being about 1/2 to 3/4 short. The left side fits great and I measured all the old trim against the new trim and it is right on. When looking at some cars for sale on e bay it appears that on a few of them the trim looked short near the bumper. I am lost as what to do. Thanks Patrick McPherson (55168)

Re: cove trim 59
Patrick, I had the same oddity on a '59. This was using original trims after being professionally polished. Left was close but right was short about 1/2". I assumed it was the reproduction nose I installed on the car. Is yours original or replacement?

Re: cove trim 59
Hi Rich, My car is all original with the production nose. There was some slight damage to the right near the headlight but the rest is factory. I tried the original moldings and the new ones are the same. I have looked at pictures of 58 thru 60s and some of the photos show the same thing. I guess I will live with the problem as I don't have an answer. Thanks again for you help. Pat McPherson 55168- Top

Re: cove trim 59
I have the same problem on my 59. Driver side is perfect. Passenger side is off by about 1/2 inch. I have looked at photos in various books and magazines, and have observed that There are a few original cars that haven't been fooled around with, that have the trim off by about 1/2 inch. Remember, these cars don't have nearly the tolerances that even the early metal cars had.- Top
