C1 windshield sealing question

Getting ready to put another C1 windshield together and wanted to query you about the latest thinking on what sealant to use and where to put it to ensure it comes out watertight.

Do you put sealant between the gasket and glass and then between the gasket and the frame too?

What sealant is recommended?

As I recall I took out massive quantities of dum-dum from somewhere around the lower frame during disassembly. Should I put dum-dum between the lower frame and the body even thought there is a rubber sealer strip in there or does it go somewhere else?

The Spring 2010 issue of the "Restorer" ,Pg. 10, has an article by Dennis Kazmierzak on a 1957 windshield.
