C2 Repair Shops near Sugar Grove, IL ????

Help! Looking to buy a C2 once again. Sold previous C2's because it was hard to
find local shops to help me keep the car in good running condition. Does anyone
out there know of any good shops/mechanics in the fox valley area west of
Chicago who can work on these older corvettes. Without a source for help with
repairs another C2 may be out of the question.

Avoid the folks on Ogden Avenue in Downers Grove. Ah yes, Sugar Grove, home of Denny Hastert SOH and a fairly good cruise in at or near the airport. Went there just once driving from Aurora on U.S. 30. Never again! First off, I don't live in Illinois anymore (thank God!), and second is that drive on a two lane highway with lots of semi trucks is just scary beyond belief. The heavy traffic in both directions makes passing very difficult. You have to, in many cases, be patient and wait for a four lane intersection to pass the trucks. Otherwise you must judge your openings carefully and then pedal to the metal!

John, one more recommendation for Stretch! I have known him for 20+ years and he has helped me with 3 restorations. His shop is 475 Industrial drive, Naperville. That is North Aurora drive, two stoplights plus west of rt 59. Several of us are there every Sat morning for donuts and coffee. Stretch is currently working on a 59 frame off & just getting ready to paint. Stop by some Saturday morning. Regards, Jim B.
