Hi. I have been looking to buy a 1970 LS5 Corvette, and I am concerned about the engine pad stamp. The owner has the original Protecto Plate, as well as the Tank Sticker, and more documentation, and it all looks very real. The T0428CGW is also on the Protecto Plate as well.
Unfortunately, the 3 photos that I have, are small in file size. My question is, have any of you seen a Suffix code stamped so crooked before, as well as the "8" being upside down, all on the same engine block? Sorry for the small and lousy photos, but that is all I have been given so far. Files 1 and 2 were scans of film photos, and the 3rd file was a photo taken with the gentleman's iPhone.
I have searched many threads here already, and saw some misaligned engine Suffix Code Stamps, but nothing this bad. The pad looks very aged, and not one that has recent Broach marks. The owner is over 1500 miles away from me, so before I take a flight, it would be great to have some opinions from the NCRS members here.
Thank you in advance,
Steve
