    66 Rear Camber

I have noticed that the camber setting on the rear drivers side of my car is much more pronounced than the passenger side. On the drivers side the angle of the wheel (in at the top) is fairly easy to spot were as on the passenger side it almost looks like there is no camber. I have driven this car for 6 years and drives fine, no unusual tire wear, no strange noises, but my eye is drawn to the difference between the 2 sides of the car as I approach from the back. Not one to fix things until they are broke, I'm wondering if this is an unusual issue or should I not be concerned. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

    Jeffery,

The rear camber is a easy thing to adjust if you are so inclined. Get to squares of floor tile as this will allow the tire to slide free when it's adjusted and set the camber with a 2' level to where the tire is vertical.

If you're looking for dead nutz rear wheel vertical plumb drape a blanket over the rear of the car to protect the paint. With a weight on the hook end suspended just above floor level lay a fishing pole on the blanket in such a way that the taut line drops down just in front of the vertical center line of the wheel. Measure top and bottom vertical edge of the wheel rim to fishing line. When top and bottom measurements are exactly the same - perfect zero. If slight negative camber is desired (1/32", etc.) adjust top measurement accordingly.

Nothing is prettier to look at than a mid year driving away with the rear alignment set correctly.
