Can someone tell me how to repair the referenced switch or where to buy a new one. The original switch will not turn off wipers until the motor is turned off. I look pretty silly when it stops raining. I've checked a number of parts companies and it is listed as "Not Available". Thanks. Duane Dunlap

Re: 1988 Windshield Washer/Wiper Switch
Seems to me, the last one of those I had in my shop, we replaced the printed circuit board in the wiper motor. It wasn't the switch. Of course, I can't diagnose yours for sure, but I bet the problem is that cover on the motor. I think the part was available at most local parts houses. Let me know !!!Tom Hendricks

Re: 1988 Windshield Washer/Wiper Switch
Patrick and Tom, I checked Contemporary Corvettes and they have a used switch for $79.00. Now, how do I determine if it is the switch or a bad circuit board? I have read that it could also be a corroded relay switch. After receiving your replies, I checked the switch operation again and it seems to work fine except for not shutting off and returning to home position. To return to home, I have to shut off the engine, restart the engine and turn the switch to "off". Thanks for your help. Duane- Top

Re: 1988 Windshield Washer/Wiper Switch
I guess if it were me, I'd remove the easiest part and test, i.e. remove and test the switch with a volt meter to see if its bad. I am not familiar on how to test the circuit board, perhaps someone who knows how can chime in.
What options does your 88 have? I have a Z52, auto, targa top- non sports seats. This was my first Vette owned when I turned 20.

Re: 1988 Windshield Washer/Wiper Switch
Patrick, my '88 is a red convertible with a white top and red interior. It has AT, Deluxe interior/seats, PS, PB, Bose Radio, AC, power windows and heated mirrors. It is one of the few 88's that I have seen with 16" wheels. It's a very different car than my 1970 L46. Thanks for asking. Duane- Top

Re: 1988 Windshield Washer/Wiper Switch
I removed the door panel, checked the old switch with a volt meter and found it defective. I ordered a used (could not find new one) switch from Contemporary Corvette and replaced it today. Everything works properly. Thank you to those who responded to my thread. Duane Dunlap- Top
