What is a good replacement coil from Napa for my '63 L84 until I can replace it with a good original 087?

Re: replacement coil
Perry, I have a rare coil in my 63, Its a 091 and its not a coil I would like to replace there are a rare part( its in cold storage for now). so I brought one at my local PepBoys which at the time was a Borg Warner. likely made in China today. But works fine. I would say any brand name would work fine.New England chapter member, 63 Convert. 327/340- Chapter/Regional/national Top Flight, 72 coupe- chapter and regional Top Flight.- Top

Re: replacement coil
Perry, As Edward said you need an 091 coil on your 63 FI car. Not an '087. Now if you have an old JM it states '087 but the 5th and 6th edition has that error corrected.
If I didn't have a 087 or an 091 coil for my FI car and was just going to drive it I would probably put in the Delco 64-65 coil like Chevy pushed in the old days.
202 or 022. I forget.
091's are major bucks now a days. Be careful as two variations of them. John- Top

Re: replacement coil
Thanks guys. You are correct, I need a 091 coil. As soon as I posted I realized I wrote the wrong number. I confirmed it last night when I checked my JM. I have been looking for the correct coil for some time now.- Top

Re: replacement coil
Also known as the Standard UC-12; works great, slightly larger in diameter than a Delco coil. I keep one handy when a "known good coil" is needed for trouble-shooting.
