Hee Hee And where is any mention of any provenance??? Quite a few items "appeared" after his demise. Without irrefutable evidence to the contrary, I call BSDick Whittington- Top

I watched this car cross the auction block. IIRC on what they said, it was originally a 6 cyl, then modified a few times before the LS6 was eventually added. I got the impression the Smokey installed the engine. What I saw, heard, or think I understood is all up for review.- Top

A test mule modified dozens of times, sold on a bill of sale, with questionable docs? And someone (maybe the auction house or shills) bid it up to $185K and it didn't sell? Sorry, for that money I will take a real Chevelle, El Camino, or Corvette LS6.Big Tanks In the High Mountains of New Mexico- Top

When does advertising "hype" morph into straight-out Lying??? "Pilot" cars are generally built to test out the production process, prior to SORP. A high-opton package yes. Parts that were never released for production (like a cable driver tach) Absolutely Not!Bill Clupper #618- Top

Unfortunately, it happens all the time with auctions on most all car makes and models. Maybe in his new role, Roy can curb some of it in some auctions, if they listen to him.Big Tanks In the High Mountains of New Mexico- Top

Just out of curiosity I looked at my 1970 Camaro AIM as sure enough the LS6 was an option and showed it in
detail. If someone would look at their 1970 Corvette AIM (Like Terry M.) was the LS6 listed in there? We know that
Chevrolet had planned to have the LS6 an option in the Chevelle,Camaro, and Corvette with only the Chevelle getting
it as a RPO. Thanks again; LarryLarry

Totally agree. No provenance to prove anything beyond the trim tag and serial #. Also a bit perpelxed by "cold air induction sysytem" air cleaner without a corresponding functioing hood!- Top

Checked two Camaro references and no documented LS6 is recorded. AIM and Brochures are printed ahead of actual production decisions, and are NOT a guide as to the actual RPO releases.Bill Clupper #618- Top

My 1970 AIM is in storage, but from memory the LS7 is shown for 1970 with the page marked CANCELLED. Only one page is shown, so it is a teaser. My guess is ifr that engine was closer to actual production there might have been 4 to 6 pages.Terry- Top

My 70 Camaro AIM shows an outstanding 15 pages of LS6 info!! Apparently the rug was pulled from production "late in the game". Like to hear from John
Hinckley on the what process was done in coming up with "pilot cars". You would think that such an option (LS6) would require such a car (pilot) to come
about. I suppose like most Chevrolet Hardcore Info; will never know. LarryLarry
