I was wondering if a Regional or National meet will ever be held in the chicagoland area? I would love to see it happen.

The first thing the local chapter has to do is apply for a regional meet...National Board can only go by the applications that are received each year. If a chapter doesn't submit an application for a regional meet, they won't be considered.

I have been a member of the ILNCRS for a long time and believe the officers(current and past) of the club have never shown an interest in having a "national" type meet. Maybe they feel because Bloomington Gold is held in Ill. there is no need to have one. Larry

Larry, maybe your right but with Bloomington moving to Champaign, it would be great to see a Regional or better yet a National event in the area.

I am a Member of the ILNCRS, also; and as all know it takes much work to put on a Regional. We have a national Director in Bill Braun and we will take it up at the Chapter level.

The ILNCRS once had a Regional in Effingham. Ask #14 about that. However, I am sure no one would consider Effingham the Chicagoland area. You should hear Mike's story of a PV and a pig. You have to hear him tell it because it is funnier in person than in the written word. There is no way I can come close to his delivery either.

Even though I am no longer on the ILNCRS BoD I am aware of discussions on this subject from time to time spanning many years. The deal killer seems to be the cost of a location and lodging in the greater Chicago area.

Since someone else brought up Bloomington Gold -- it is widely known that one of the many reasons they just moved from the Chicago area was the cost of doing business here. Edit add: Also complaints from customers about the cost of lodging in and near St. Charles.
