'67 Spare tire in tub, how should it look?

I just bought 5 new Kelsey Goodyear Power Cushion 775X15s whitewalls, as that is what my tank sticker calls for. They came with a bluish protective coating on the whitewall, should I clean this off the spare tire, or leave it on? What would the original one have looked like? Thanks for any help and opinions.

I don't know about 67 but the original, never used Firestone Delux Champion spare tire in my 63 still has the green whitewall protective coating on it.

Michael,
If you are refering to NCRS judging on the spare, I don't think the judges will care if the coating is removed or not.
