How can I test my 1965 TI coil and what should the numbers be ?
What is the difference between a TI and a non TI coil ? thanks Bill
Bill,
Can't answer your direct question but if you have a "real" #210 Delco Remy coil then put it on your car and let it run until its at Operating temperature w/ the shielding on. If it works when it is hot then you have a good coil.
The only time I had the car running was in about 1981 when I bought it , it ran fine then and it does have the original coil and TI amp . I have a second one that is very rusty I would like to check it .

Bill -- the '65 shop manual says for the 1115207 / 1115202 Primary resistance (ohms): .38-.51 / 1.24-1.46; Secondary resistance: 8200-12400 / 6500-9500.
I have two NOS 207's that I could check; also a NIB 202 (string not yet pulled) that I will NOT check , and a used original 202. Also used 1115210 (pic below) that I could put a meter on.
Hi Wayne . I checked my 210 coils The one from 17346 was at .8 primary & 972 secondary . The second one from 16120 was at .7 primary & 1036 secondary . I checked a 238 BR it was 2.2 & 1089 . and a 293 BR it was 2.2 &1195 . I don't understand all these numbers but I know both 210s worked .
