Thanks Steven, I thought they were Brass too.

The judging manual says aluminum - and I have also been told black coated aluminum too

so confused .......

Kevin, Although I am not into the carb info that much I do know that some of those tags were also black.
But a typical repro and some originals = brass.
This was discussed here not long ago. John

My 1960 tags are black. Got full credit at regional.

I have a 270 set up on the shelf that have never been apart. I have owned them for 40 years and never ran them on anything yet. The tags are December 1960 and are aluminium painted black. One has about 50% of the black remaining and the other about 30%. but they are original and unmolested.
