66 Signal Stat 170 Flasher and dimmer switch

Ordering the last round of parts for my car . The two things I need and can't find are the 170 Flasher and A NOS Dimmer Switch

LI , CC and Paragon don't even list the 170, and all admit thier switch is incorrect. Doc Rebuilt said he had, but sold out of 170's

So anybody know of a source to acquire these items ?

    Thanks,

    Jim

      Jim,

I believe that you want the shiny gold 170 flasher as shown in my photo on the left and not the one on the right with the yellow printing.

I sold the gold NOS 170 flasher to a NCRS member and he may still have it. It was dated "S 086" (Syracuse, 8th week of 1966).

The yellow printed used 170 flasher is dated ""T488" (Toronto, 48th week of 1968) that I removed from a 1969 Camaro in a salvage yard over 20 years ago.

I still have a used gold 170 flasher dated "S 236" (Syracuse, 23rd week of 1966) that I removed from a 1966 Chevrolet many years ago but it has some mild pitting from old age.

For the 66 Corvette Traffic Hazard Warning Switch the Signal-Stat 170 with the gold finish & embossed logo, etc on the top is the appropriate flasher.

Although the 66 AIM shows the flasher as a separate part number call out, I expect the Traffic Hazard Lamp Switch & Harness Assembly came as a unit and
since from my experience the units were manufactured by Flare-Stat or Signal-Stat, I'm sure the original flasher in these units was as Signal-Stat
flasher and typically the S-S 170.

          Thanks Guys ,for the Feedback.

So if I am understanding them all correctly, it's the Junk Yards or ebay for these parts . I was hoping for an obscure electronics place, or a lesser known vendor , that carried all this old stuff !

I am missing the 170 Signal Stat Flasher completely from my Hazard Unit , however I still have the original Dimmer Switch. The problem there is the cap is rusted , plus it is 47 years old !

I agree that I need the embossed 170 , as that is what the JG calls for . So I guess the hunt is on . Unless David, or others here, have one they will part with ? I have a brand new $5 dollar bill just burning a hole in my pocket !!!!

            Jim,

I think that you would be better off searching for a NOS embossed gold 170 flasher. The used 170 flasher (in photos below) that I removed from a 1966 Chevrolet has some mild pitting and I'm not sure if it even works. Currently my 1966 does not have a battery to test it.

My 66 has an emergency flasher as below mounted to the park brake bracket.

I have Signal Stat 175 as indictors flasher
Flasher #170 does not get a mention in the JG.

Gary - The hazard flasher, option V74, is described on page 49 of the current 1966 Corvette TIM&JG with the Red 1966 Corvette and the Route 66 Sign on the cover. Pete

                        Gary,

What is the date code on your Signal Stat 175 flasher?
                        I have 2 used and 1 NOS 175 Signal-Stat flashers dated "S060" (6th week of 1970), "S407" (40th week of 1967), and "72" w/"DOT".
