    Corvette Mike

I have seen some of the most perfect examples of classic Corvettes at this dealership on line. I was just wondering who Corvette mike is and if there is any information on how he got started in the business of selling Corvettes. Seems to me like a great article could be written on him and his cars in driveline.

    Re: Corvette Mike

A much more interesting article would be the history of a Corvette dealer from Ohio

Walter I believe that there are three Corvette Mike dealerships(California,Mid west, New England), I know the owner of the New England area Corvette Mike.always sells low mileage Corvettes.I am not sure just how they work together.

Mike Vietro. Been around since the 80's. As Terry suggests, there are others that could be written about. Where would you stop? To whom would you give "free advertising" and to whom would you not? We already have many vendors claiming that what they are selling has the "NCRS approval"--how would you not imply approval of a dealer's product by doing an article on him/them? There are a number of part-time/full-time collector car dealers that are members of NCRS--it would be very difficult to pick one without slighting many others.
He does have some very nice cars from time to time! (and so do others)

Jack, I think the each Corvette Mike is it's own owner. Maybe they have some special Business agreement.

Most all the Corvette dealers & venders started as a hobby selling one Corvette at a time or bringing a pickup load of parts to car shows & swap meets in the late 60's &early 70's. Some of us keep it as a hobby to help support our habit & others turned it into a full time busness. The timing was right & people were making a LOT of money. Another poster is right though. Someone should write a book about Terry/Linda

The first time I restored my '65 back in the late 1970's I bought a lot of parts what was then T Michaelis Corvette Supply which is now of Pro Team. Terry Michelies was one of the original producers of reproduction Corvette Parts. I think at the time he grew too quickly and fell on some hard times but bounced back to what is now Pro Team Corvette and now seems to get ahold of some of the rarest Corvettes ever produced. His story would be for sure interesting.

I remember going to his original location in Maumee Ohio pick up some parts. At the time they would give tours of the soft goods plant where he made seat covers and carpets. To a 20 year old kid it was pretty interesting place.

                Mike

Mike Vietro, owner of Corvette Mike in Calif for many years, franchised his name out to two other businesses is my understanding from conversations I have had with my friends who are owners of Corvette Mike Midwest. The owners of Midwest and New England own those businesses....not Vietro. I don't know the particulars of their agreement, but it would seem there is language to protect the name of Mike Vietro. The owner of New England is also named Mike and just a coincidence.

I know Corvette Mike; good guy; been in his place in So CA many times...Mike E is correct, where do you stop...I went to see Mike Vietro to buy a '67 big block and he took me for a ride in the "Lady in Red" awesome '67. I was there two days thinking/negotiating the price on that big block; maybe I should have bought it...I saw him two years later at Bloomington Gold; he was kind but did not remember me; ...he is a car salesman, no more, no less.
