    Question on 69 L-36

    Hi,

    I'm away from my books and have a couple of quick questions...

    I'm looking at a 69 L36 427 390 hp... 4sp, air
    I'm trying to determine if its a real big block car...
    What is the tach red line? what else obviously pops out as a "born with" big block?
    Big stabilizer bars front rear, aluminum radiator, with correct rad support, of course the hood, bigger differential and half shafts?
    floor insulation...
    Not looked at pad yet...will be seeing later today...

    THANKS a bunch!!!
    Pete

        Does the owner have the 69's original warranty booklet with the metal plate still attached? The plate will have all the information to confirm the 69 427. It will also have the original owners name.

          Thanks all for the replies...
          There is nothing from the owner...no POP. I will be looking at it first hand and wanted to be a little better informed.
          There may be a tank sticker but I wont be able to access it.

              Larry -

              "Taxable Horsepower" = Bore squared x 8, divided by 2.5.

              327 & 350 = 51.2

              396 = 53.6

              427 = 57.8
