Hi.guys...just a couple of questions , are the release handle, cables and latches on the underside of a C2 roadster deck lid suppose to be painted the car color or left unpainted?, AND, can side window glass pre-date a cars build month by up to a year? (my cars birth date is Jan '67 and I have dated the glass to Feb,July and Nov 66). Thanks alot!

Re: deck lid underside latches and glass date coding
The answer is yes and sometimes no. The St Louis cars seem to be covered very well. I've seen AO Smith that also have good coverage as well and also some non at all. I would guess the assembly of latches, release, cables at AO Smith was not always prior to paint. I've learned in this hobby never say never.- Top

I am pretty sure ALL glass is one year before the car was built, but you need to check the Standard Deduction tables in The NCRS Judging Reference Manual to be sure. There is also a chance that the TIM&JG for the appropriate year has some wording that over rides the Standard Deductions, but that is rare. To be sure you don't get a surprise on the show field, it is best to look it up.Hi.guys...just a couple of questions , are the release handle, cables and latches on the underside of a C2 roadster deck lid suppose to be painted the car color or left unpainted?, AND, can side window glass pre-date a cars build month by up to a year? We can tell you our best guess, but it carries no weight on the show field. If you have the page from the book to show the judge -- that is what counts.Terry- Top
