Anyone remember seeing a list of radial tires for 66-67 with a whitewall width of 5/8-3/4 that was published on this site or the CF site a few months ago. This list stated the different MFRs that have the tires commonly available at your local tire dealer at prices that didn't break the bank. I know Diamond Back can build what you want, but I was looking for a tire more reasonly priced. I had printed off the list, but lost it somewhere. TIA

The 215-70-15 specs out @ 26.9 OD X 6.60 thread width X 8.70 section width ----- Wish the WW was a bit closer to 5/8 but at least it's under 3/4 whereas some of the other ww's are running 3/4 or slightly over. I also like the Firestone script as opposed to some "off brand".
Not much to choose from these days and was told WW tires are rapidly disappearing!

Re: C2 radial tire availablity list
So how would a Uniroyal radial tire judge compared to the others, isn't the Uniroyal a OEM tire supplier?
I am thinking about the Tiger Paw W/W for my 67 corvette.- Top

Re: C2 radial tire availablity list
Tim,
Yes Uniroyal is a OEM manufacture for the 1967 Corvette and should meet the criteria of a "Service Replacement Tire" providing it's a 205/75/R15 or 215/70/R15 and has the correct whitewall or redline width as the original.
I'm not qualified to offer what the point reduction would be for the correct "service Replacement Tire" or what the limits of error for the 5/8 whitewall or the 3/8 redline stripe?
I have not measured the whitewall width on the Tiger Paw yet; but, suspect it's close to 3/4; however it does carry the OEM Uniroyal script as you know. Not sure, but I believe the only way to get a true 5/8" wide whitewall service replacement radial tire would be through Diamond Back ---------- but there will NOT be the OEM script and they are very expensive.
Hopefully someone qualified will jump in and answer where you will stand with judging radial tires.

Re: C2 radial tire availablity list
Thanks Ralph for your input, I will probably buy the uniroyal 205/75R15 for my 67 as well, I am not spending $1000 for a 5/8" whitewall. The speed rating and temp and traction are the same on all these tires, so no gain spending more $$.- Top
