The interior lights refuse to turn off on my '84 when the engine is turned off. I have checked the lock mechanism to make sure it works properly, and the door closure to make sure it closes properly and still my interior lights stay on all the time. I finally just pulled the fuse for the courtesy system so that the would stay off permanently. This left me with no radio since my antenna can no longer go up. I have talked other owners with the same problem and nobody seems to have a fix. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: "84 Courtesy Light Problem
Ok, you either have a short to ground in the wiring, an bad door switch, bad timer, or a bad headlamp switch, it's a pretty simple system. If you have a Service manual, it is outlined in section 8B-2. One other item to check is a timeout built into the system that keeps the lamps on during entry or exit for 30 seconds. Make sure you have let it time out, if it does not the timer may be the problem.Bill Clupper #618- Top
