The AIM Section U69, B1, Sheet 1 clearly shows with notes to seperate the radio antenna cable and rear wiring harness on each side of the rear deck hinge. However, routing the rear wiring harness outboard of the hinge spring looks like an accident waiting to happen. The wiring is so close to that spring I would think it only a matter of time before it gets caught up in the spring and chewed up. So the big question is, was the wiring installed this way in actual practice because I'm thinking about routing both the antenna cable and wire harness inboard of the hinge to clear that spring.

Re: Question on routing antenna cabel and rear wiring harness around convertible hing
Scott, I wired two cars per the AIM and all's ok so far. Doesn't the carpet gett glued down over them, preventing any movement? Can't remember exactly how it looks.

Scott, John post is correct. I routed my 63 over the wheel well area(closest to the tire side) and used some tape to hold in place to until I glued the carpet down.
