    exhaust tip extensions

What characteristics identify the following exhaust tip extensions:

1963 - did these have a small stamped letter, e.g. a W or A, about an 1/8 inch in size?

1964 - were these the same as 63 or have number 3819573 about a 1/4 inch in size?

1965-67 did these only have number 3819573 about a 1/4 inch in size?

Were all stainless steel with a seam and any magnetic?

    Re: exhaust tip extensions

Dan as far as I know, all 63 to 67 exhaust extensions installed on the line had NO numbers, letters or anything else stamped on them. They all had a seam that ran along the bottom at the 5 or 7 oclock position.

The over the counter parts did.

To this day I do not understand why folks pay all those big $$$ for the so called NOS parts in the box with the stamped numbers. It a point deduction during judging.

Harry, What do you think of L.I. Corvettes new stainless tips that are magnetic and have the seam. they seem look as original.

Ed, I haven't seen one yet. If you have one and are going to the chapter judging school on Saturday bring it and I will bring an original.

        Let me know.....
