Replacement Windshield For '61

My original windshield has unfortunately developed a small stress crack. An internet search shows all of the major suppliers can provide the windshield with and without date codes. But all indicate that it is drop shipped making me think there is really only one manufacturer and all of the others are simply resellers.

So, can anyone provide the name and contact info of the replacement windshield manufacturer, and also any info such as if they will sell retail?

With a little research I think I answered my own question. It seems as if Pilkington Glass is the primary manufacturer, with Auto City Classics and others as secondary suppliers. If anyone knows differently, please let me know. Thanks.

I had some trouble and asked Paragon to put mine in the frame. They did a fine job. The glass came from a vendor at Carlisle a few years back. They are still in business (in Minnesota?) but were not at Carlisle this past summer.

I've had to get two for my 1960 (I broke the first one trying to get the frame together) from another vendor and they both came from Auto City. I read somewhere that Pilkington owned the rights from LOF and made all the glass for these classic Corvette. So I agree with your assessment, but I only know what I read.

I guess I am not the only one who broke his new windshield and had to get another. A valuable lesson was learned. Don't have a screw driver anywhere near where a windshield is being installed into the frame of a 59.

I just bought a windshield for a 56 from Pilkington glass and picked it up at their warehouse in Columbus Ohio. I have installed the windshield and they date coded it and everything looks correct and fonts look good. I seen no problems with it and it did have a paper sticker on it made in Mexico. If you are close to Columbus Ohio you save $200 in shipping fees, I am 100 miles from there. There is a DOT number on the edge of the glass and the rubber gasket covers it.
