I am going to replace my center console door with a new one from Corvette America. does anyone know of a way to transfer the option codes data sticker to the new one?

The only way I know of to do it is to cut with a SHARP knife along the perimeter of the label right through the thin plastic underside of the door which the label is affixed to. Then, use adhesive to affix the label with attached plastic back to the new door's underside. Of course, it won't appear as-original but at least the label will be preserved. I don't know of any other way to remove the label without damaging or destroying it or, at least RISKING damaging or destroying it.

Yea, I don't see how to remove it without damage.

I would think you could cut the old one out as Joe said and gave it scanned and reprinted. I know a guy who had some battery labels done this way.

          Lyndon,
two things on this: Acetone will break the bond of the adhesive of the label. After it is off and dries, you can spray it with supper 77 to get it back in place.
The other thing , is only the pad damaged? The pad is what cracks or the edges peel up. If the plastic is fine, you can remove the pad from the repo part and transfer just that to the original plastic underside. I did this on my 88 and it came out great without having to remove the label.

at some point in time the cover was changed out to white leather. Getting the car ready for flight judging. that is some good tips on just changing the top and also scaning the old one. the car is a 1989

Lyndon, maybe I'm missing something. Doesn't the bottom portion of the console door come off by unscrewing it? This is the case on most C4s.

That's what I did on my 90; just transferred the hinge and plastic bottom to the new pad. Maybe 20 minutes of work

Thanks for clearing it up. I was getting really confused for a while. Lyndon, when you drop in the new door, it will need a little adjusting so it falls in place with the front latch.

                    Good luck!

This sounds like a good approach. I need to replace the one on my 1992 and I've been reluctant to do it for years because of the label issue. So, I think I'll try it your way.
