    Replacing a 63 Antenna Cable

Does anyone have any tips on replacing the antenna cable on the 63. Someone before me decided to change out the AM Wonderbar with a Custom Design AM/FM radio. In doing so, they cut the antenna end that goes into the radio and put on a different one. I have the Wonderbar being overhauled and now I have to replace the cable. If it is as hard as replacing the brake line from the master cylinder to the rear brakes, I don't look forward to this job. Good tips would be greatly appreciated.

Pat, I will be going through this in the weeks to come myself, as when I restored my 63 car I put a L.I. Corvette repro cable in. And as you can guess, bad choice. the repro cables don't work. As the repro cables are the same as the cable used for you home TV. The factory used a RG62 cable. anyway I just found a original one by luck. This is will be more work for me and you as my car was totally dissy. for a total resto.

This is my plan of attack, radio side panel first and remove cable from radio. side kick panel, sill plate, I am going to try and fish cable through the metal plate that the carpet is glued to, next the rear qtr. trim panel( I have a convert.) peel back the carpet that was just glued on the wheel house area. then drop the rear hanger on muffler to access the lead at mast lower end. and then feed cable through the rubber gromnent.
