Well then I better look to see exactly where the dimple is not just to see if there is one and on what side. Seems like this is getting trickier all the time.
Thanks Wayne and John. I didn't know you could buy those things. Only one I've ever seen was homemade starting with an old spark plug, gutting it and welding in a bolt which passed through the center. Buying sounds easier.
The answer is in post #2. If the dimple is oriented properly (in line with rotor electrode) for the stock cam, then turn it 180 degrees and it MIGHT work with an aftermarket cam. The distributor gear has 13 teeth, so each tooth is worth 27.7 distributor degrees, or 55 crankshaft degrees. Rotating the drive gear 180 degrees is worth 1/2 tooth, or 27.7 crank degrees.
NO, the electronic trigger does NOT alter spark timing, however; addition of a Multi Spark Discharge module WILL alter timing.
