    Driving miles judging question

If I drive to a regional meet on radial tires and bring a set of non dot tires and original rims to put on at the meet can I still claim driving points. Obviously the tires on original rims would be brought in a chase car. Not really comfortable driving 400 miles on old (or new for that fact) bias ply tires. Looked in judging manual and did not see anything to address this.

Changing tires in the parking lot is ok but not on the judging field. The mileage driving points don't count for the 97 needed for the Duntov qualifing score but they count for a Top Flight.

I would think it's OK as long as you change them before you bring it on to the Judging field.

I did it in 2003 and it was OK at that time.

          Re: Driving miles judging question

I have a number of original parts that I do not keep on the '96, but magically show up on the show field, so don't see a problem with wheels/tires.
