    C2 (64) Emblem Attachment Nuts

    I asked this question years ago and got one response which was to use pal nuts on all exterior emblems and the winged speed nuts on interior door reflectors. I asked because I bought 1/8 winged speed nuts for the nose and rear deck emblems based on the Paragon offering. I just checked them online and it is still the same. They worked on the rear deck but were too small for the nose. After my post and the response I put pal nuts on everything else. Right now I have the rear valence panel off and this would be the time to change the rear deck if it is wrong. I also have a concern that the finish on the winged nuts really is not for any exterior application. The AIM say 3840131 on the nose, 9419761 on the rear deck and 9410756 on the side/fender emblems.

    Can anyone shed some light on this. Thanks.

    Check the revision box in your 1964 AIM.
    9419763 was replaced with 3840131 on 3-27-64 as per drawing (change on assembly line sometime later).

    GM # 9419761 is a stamped nut (Pal nut) 1/8"-w/sealer (17/32" flange) as per 1965 Chev. Parts Catalog (Oct. 1964), Gr. 8.921.
    My 1964 Chev. Parts Catalog (Oct. 1963) describes GM # 9419761 as 1/8" - (Type SK).
    The other two nuts are no listed.

    My 1966 AIM lists 9419761 on the nose, 9419756 on the sides, and 9419761 on the rear deck.

    9419761 = 1/8" - w/sealer (17/32" flange)
    9419763 = possibly 5/32" - w/sealer (just an educated guess)
    9419764 = 3/16" w/sealer
    9419766 = 1/4" .692 O.D. w/sealer
