    Another Doc Rebuild adventure.

I haven't ordered a lot of items from the Doc, but I have liked the items that I've received. (Excluding the customer service. Not exactly the people person type. Debbie, I believe?)

My latest order included the Green Temp Wire Lead for a 1970 coupe. (PN1148099 Fits 63-78) I explained my car has a barrel pin on the temp sending unit and NOT the flat blade type shown in the catalogue. I needed the barrel type connector. They assured me of all their years of experience.
I received the blade type connector which indicates it fits 56-69 & 73-77 on the parts bag. Yep, it differs from what is in the catalogue. When I called and advised them the blade type plug wouldn't fit my car, I was told it was my fault for not telling them I was NCRS. What does NCRS have to do with putting a square plug on a round sending unit? Again, my fault, they haven't made barrel plugs in 20 + years. She agreed to refund if I shipped it back.

Ordered at the same time, but arriving in a seperate box on another day was a 1970 Radiator Core Support for the 1970. It arrived damaged, the radiator saddles were pushed out thru the box and one of the fan shroud studs was broken off. This item was made by Coffman Corvette and shipped to me by Corvette Central. The box had Corvette Central packing tape all over it.(Not sure how ordering/shipping from Doc works?)
I advised Doc the part was damaged, the had me leave it out for UPS and would ship another one. The second Core Support showed up yesterday looking like this. A damaged box with repairs, inserted into another box. Again with Corvette Central packing tape. Same damage, the saddle was bent and the stud broken off.
I called Doc again and informed them of another damaged Core Support. I was told that this hasn't happened in 25 years, they would refund my order and any future orders would need to be paid with a money order, no returns or refunds. Looking forward to spending my money elseware.

Sounds like the second area complaint lies with whoever is shipping from Corvette Central - a common practice - but I can assure you that Dr Rebuild will discuss this with CC. Simply not the way Doc does business; yes he has rules, but he also has some of the best diagrams and parts available.

Another unsatisfied customer tired with dealing with a nut case. Sorry but Doc lost it years ago. There are many vendors with the same products that have a thing the good Dr. never heard of. It's called "CUSTOMER SERVICE". I can't understand why anyone would patronize this guy with these all to common complaints.

I haven't dealt with the Doc in a few years but my experiences have always been satisfactory. Dunno.

I haven't used Doc much, but when I have the very worst part of the experience has been the gal on the phone. Wow, what an attitude. You'd think with all the very friendly competition out there selling the same parts they (she) would have an attitude adjustment. She's the reason I seldom think, let alone order from them. If I want an attitude I'll talk to my wife

I looked high and low for a barrel connector for the pin sender in my 69 a number of years ago. I ended up making my own. I didn't think that anyone reproduced it.

Midyear guys are lucky to have Long Island Corvette. They ship fast and I've never had any surprises from them. Maybe someday they will start supporting C3s.

A few years ago I needed a custom hose and Doc made one for me at a reasonable price. The last time I ordered (about 6 months ago) I was shorted a label so I called and had the replacement label in 2 days. Seems to me to be pretty good service.

I thought the '70 used the blade type connector , not the barrel ?

I too have had great experiences with the Good Doctor. He sold me his last NOS steering column rod for my 63 at a very reasonable price and has many parts that others can't get and/or don't have. He sure has been in business a long time. He always treats me right and so does (that woman). I like his prices too. Sorry to be taking the controversial part. Maybe he enjoys my merry heart. After all a merry heart doeth good like a medicine. Paul
