C1 Replacing Front Engine Mount Cushions

When replacing the front engine mount cushions and jacking up the front part of the engine, is it necessary to disengage the drive shaft and/or loosen t-10 transmission attaching brackets to avoid undue stress on the drive train?

You can definitely leave the drive shaft attached. I would loosen the transmission mount bolts but leave the nut on. I always use a scrap of wood (2x4) between the jack and oil pan. Good luck, Don H.

John, What are the exact measurements of the oil pan cradle? Thanks, Larry

Larry, see photos. It is a 2x6 with the measurements.

John, I found it difficult to read the measurements from the pictures due to their smaller size. Perhaps Larry had the same difficulty. Richard

                3 pieces of 2 X 6 X 9 1/4" long and assemble like the picture shows.

The opening inside the 2x6s is 6 1/4" across the bottom and 9" tall inside.
