    cluster fix question

Require info if anyone has had to fix a cluster that has been butchered . I was thinking of making a fiberglass piece covered with JB weld.
Also required to be painted. I 'm not sure if this material can be welded ? If so maybe aluminum patch ? Also require any measurements of origanal piece.
    Thanks Winter projet.

      Re: cluster fix question

Wayne, to answer your first question, it can be brazed. Since you have already repaired this, perhaps this can be for future reference. I believe that the cluster is pot metal. You can use Muggy Weld products to weld a patch in. I believe that too much is broken off to build this area up using these products.

      It's looking pretty good.

          Re: cluster fix question

Thanks York for your posting. This seems to be a fairly common issue on mid-years, I have a '64 with the same kind of break. Don,t have the broken off piece. I purchased another cluster and had it chromed. I may attempt to repair my original. Thanks for the information. Dale
