Both of my daughters who got married here asked if I could come up with pre-63's for each couple standing up in the wedding. (9 in the one wedding, 7 in the other.) Corvette friends helped out with loaners. They requested those because that's what they grew up with. And both brides and grooms rejected the limo idea so they could leave the church in the silver 62 fuelie. I guess we raised them right! We have 4 girls, and in both weddings, two of our non-bride daughters (bridesmaids) had to drive other 62's because the groomsmen they were paired couldn't drive a manual transmission.

Nice story Mike, and so true. All of my ''collectible 57-67'' cars are gone since my MS prevents me to shift and drive them. Dee still has her 77 and her grandson, now 28 and works in his Dad's garage business, has no real love or desire to have the car. We have six kids between us, and none of them want the car. They say, ''Trade it in on something new'' for you guys.

You have hit the heart of the matter Jim. The world has changed. We haven't. No harm nor foul there -- unless you are in this for the money. My personal opinion is we should give up all the effors to make the young'uns like what we like. It is like urinating into the wind. Just enjoy what we have, and move on. If the cars are worth nothing when we are gone -- we are still gone.

I guess I'm happy that my 3 kids like the Corvettes. Having worked on them and judged them my 17 year old seems to understand how unique my Bowtie 72 is, and unofficially claimed it as "his" someday.
We will have to see how much the girls get into them but for now they enjoy the rides.
