C3 Convertible Hardtop SS Trim Question

I am well into a restoration of a C3 convertible hardtop. Going from reddish colour to black vinyl. The SS trim at the front seems to be a friction fit with some form of goop. So I guess that is just heated a bit and pulled off. The conversion from saddle headliner to black has been done. I used Krylon Satin Black. The SS trim around the window area I am not sure of. Is it held on with screws or rivets? I do see screws but they seem to be related to the weatherstripping. As I am going with a black vinyl cover these parts have to come off. Advice would be appreciated.

Paul, I just referenced one of my old GM parts books and it looks like the same screws that hold on the weatherstrip pass through holes in the side trim pieces. I hope this answers your question. By the way, where are you getting your vinyl trim from? I have a vinyl covered top that may need recovering at some point. Chip.

      Paul,

That makes things simpler. And I do worry about getting the rear glass out but I hope glass professionals know how to do that. That is the plan and I hope some generic glass trim and attachment methods have survived over the years. I tidied up the latches today and they are in good shape as is the weatherstripping. It's a bit of a pig in a poke when you buy these things from photos and afar. But I have been pleasantly surprised. The vendor was a real gentleman and honest in his ad.

      As for the vinyl:
