I have several friends who clicked on that link, and based on their email response, got to an Internet story about good jobs and bad jobs. I would bet they all use Apple products. So I do have some friends who roll that way.
BTW: It did not affect my daughter's cell phone.
PPS: It looks like Brian Pearce is the latest victim.

I clicked on the link and got to that same website about good/bad jobs. I run XP Home Ed, but use Mozilla SeaMonkey browser and email client fetching mail from my Optimum mailbox. I ran my Malwarebytes and Microsoft Security Essentials scans (Spyware Blaster runs in the background to detect threats, but has no "scan" function) and all found no threats. I changed some of my passwords just in case.

I also clicked on the link without thinking. So far I have not heard of my contact list being hacked. I used Gmail, Chrome, and run Microsoft Security Essentials
I run a mac, so all it did to me was spam my email... For anyone with kids who use their Windows computer at home, you probably have this stuff happen all the time (from experience).
Contacts are copied and the emails sent with the From: as your email address.
If you use Outlook, select/highlight a spam email, right click and select "Message Options" it'll show the SMTP message header. Return path will be another email address than the person in the From.
