The 2013 National Convention host hotel in Hampton, VA, Embassy Suites, is now taking reservations for the convention. As you can see by this picture the Embassy Suites is co-located with the Convention Center that is only a moment’s walk away.

Simply click on this link start your reservation process. Our block rate is available only from 21 July thru July 29. Book early, before they are sold out!!

They only have double beds. If you want a King its $ 100 more per night !

I was able to get a king for $155 per night on Monday morning. Wonder if that already sold out.

I had it in my calendar to do Monday, but just got to it this AM. Both online and speaking to a sales rep they only have doubles.

I just tried to book a room as if I was not from NCRS and the hotel is full!

Harry,

The rooms blocked off for NCRS would cause the hotel to show full if you were not reserving a room through our special website or by phone with our block access.

The hotel is not full, but the rates are $100 higher than quoted in your message. I'm booked, but several of our members called and the hotel indicates they are full. Is there a secondary or more hotels that will handle the anticipated participation?

If hotel is saying they are full that means the NCRS block has sold out, but not necessarily the hotel itself and that is why the rate is their normal $249/night rate. There are other hotels in the area that have NCRS rates associated and I have sent the Convention Chair an email to remind him he needs to update this thread with the other hotel contact information.

I just got off the phone with the reservation department. As noted in the threads above, the rates are higher now than quoted at the $155.00 rate but there are rooms in the hotel. It is not sold out. The block of NCRS rooms have been exhausted but there are still rooms that could be opened for NCRS members if someone would make the call. I would be curious to know how many rooms were on hold at the beginning (Oct 1) for NCRS. I find it hard to believe that on day 4 of the hotel registration, all are booked. Please open up more rooms for the NCRS block. There are going to be a lot more members wanting in the host hotel at the $155 rate.

Because of the overwhelming response to the host hotel, we are diligently working to provide additional rooms at the overflow hotels. When further information is available, it will be posted here and in other venues.

Hi John,

How many rooms did you have reserved for NCRS at the host hotel? The host hotel is not sold out for that week. Only the NCRS rooms that were on reserve are all gone. I'm not sure what it takes but why not open up more rooms at the host hotel before you start looking at secondary hotels.

I also booked a room at the higher rate because the NCRS block was filled, said they would call if one opens up.

I booked a room at the Comfort Inn Coliseum & Convention Center (757) 827-5052 at AAA rate for $71.10 per night. King Bed with max 2 persons/ 3 persons with Extra Bed. It's at 1916 Coliseum Drive.
Sounds like a good deal to me.
