One reason I asked is I think I see a clamp on the actuator hose from the recent new post Low Mile 69 L89.
Any thoughts on this?
Tks. Doug
I wouldn't use that as an example. Don't get me wrong, it's a great car but, it shouldn't have the clamp(s) there. Not only is it way non-typical, the clamp itself is also.

Doug,
I try to get the best -- read most original --- cars in the house for my Advanced Judging Seminars, but when I am on my game I worn the students that no Corvette-- Bowtie, Crossed Flags, or whatever -- is 100% correct. At best we have to remember our standard is Typical Factory Production. Many Corvettes exited St Louis with non-typical parts or installition. Then there is dealer and/or owner inspired additions or delitions or changes. I urge my students, you, and anyone reading this to remember: "There are no Corvette virgins!" and you can quote me on that.
Are there supposed to be spring clamps on the hoses going to the wiper actuator, and if so what size / where to buy?
Thanks.
Doug

I can tell you for absolute certain that my original owner, September, 1969-built convertible NEVER had hose clamps on the vacuum lines to the wiper door actuator.
I over heard a lot of conversation about that car from the rubber bumper judges, and they did not agree with your assessment. THat said some folks who paint cars for a living were on your side. Interesting car.

Yes, I know.
I think that they're full of it, and did make that known through back channels.
I'm not much of a rubber bumper guy but that was a nice car.

My wife, Anne was like that for a few minutes. After my first daughter popped out and and only Baby B was left, she was only half as pregnant as she was...kinda.
My experience (not that it is all encompassing) with 68/69 wiper actuators is that they did not have any type of clamp on either vacuum hose. When I have seen them the owner usually was using them to try to compensate for a leak in the vacuum system.

I'm going to bed...
Mark, Allow me to offer a tip: Don't tell your wife about this post.
