GM Fastener Cross Reference for 1969

What editions of the Parts and Accessory manuals or the Standard Part manuals would cover 1969 fasteners (8.9xx)? I have a November 1986 edition of the SPC, and most of the fastener reference numbers from the 1969 AIM are not there. I assume by the 80s many numbers were obsoleted.

Any online sources to cross reference AIM fastener part numbers to get size and finish info? I am reassembling from boxes with many bolts already blasted so I don't have much to go from.

The vast majority of the fasteners used in PRODUCTION were never available in SERVICE. So, you won't find them in any Standard Parts Catalog. In 1969 fasteners were still being carried in the regular P&A Catalogs. So, those few fasteners used in PRODUCTION and also available in SERVICE will be found there.

      Robert,

IIRC, Joe can correct me if I'm not - P&A 24 Standard Fasteners publication started in either 1969 or 1970 and Section 8.9 was dropped from the P&A 30's.

I believe it was October, 1969 or thereabouts.

I've got a 1969 P&A30 with sections 8.900 (Hex bolts) thru 8.984 (lubrication fittings); Rev 7-1-69, so by the above posts, this could have been the last.

The "Standard Parts Section" appears in my 10/62, 10/63, 10/64, 1/65/ 5/65, 10/65, 4/67, 7/67, 10/67, 10/68, and 5/69 Chevrolet parts catalogs but not in my 9/69 or newer Chevrolet parts catalogs.

Joe is correct. Very few fasteners in the assembly manuals are in the Standard Parts Section of the parts catalogs.
