    1970 LT1 Mechanical Accessory Questions

    Hi All,

Could you please share if the following mechanical accessory items are original 1970 LT1 items?

    Thanks in advance,

    Dan

    1) Diverter Valve - according to the NCRS book, this part # is not correct. I glanced quickly and could not find another part number but its possible I am not looking in the correct area.

    2) Water pump pulley

    3) Crank Pulley

    Insert

    4) Fan

    Rivets

I can tell you that the number you show in photo #1 is NOT the ID number STAMPED on the diverter valve. The STAMPED number is below the round diaphragm cover when the valve is installed on the car. It is difficult, at best, to see when the part is installed on the small block.

Thanks Terry! I do not know Sal Carbone restored the unit and I cannot imagine he would restore a unit that is not correct for the car. His work is fantastic!

Any ideas on the pulleys or fan?

      Regards

At the top of this page there is a search function just type in the pulley number and press the search button you will find lots of information that you are looking for fast and easy. As Terry stated the number for the diverter valve last 3 digits I think is 199 is in another location the number shown in the photo is for the hose fitting piping.

The crank and waterpump pullies are correct for the application.

The number on the diverter valve is a part number for a component of the valve and not the part number for the valve assembly. A valve using that part-numbered outlet tee was used for 1970 LT-1 but was also used for certain other valves.

I don't think the fan is correct.
