mid year small gauge lens repair

the oil pressure gauge lens in my 64 is cracked. I havent been able to figure out how to get the lens out to replace it. Is there a secret or is it impossible???

You have to pull the instrument panel out of the car and remove it from the back. The steering column needs to come out in order to get the instrument panel out.

Ugh! My steering column isnt recoupled yet how does that come out? I suppose all the brackets and gauge connections and bulbs need to be pulled also. I may have to put up with a cracked lens for the time being. Much more pressing issues to deal with like firing engine for the first time.
