I'm no expert on the L79, but I don't think the alternator came painted from the factory. For the radiator, I hear you should use paint especially formulated for radiators.
The alternator should be unpainted. The radiator is gloss black with a little less gloss (a lot glossier than semi gloss). The type of paint does'nt matter, but it must be applied very thin in order to not effect cooling.
