I'm still in the process of wrapping my head around what I bought, but I took some pictures and wanted to share:
It's a 283/270 dual 4 barrel car with a 4 speed. Documentation goes back to 1972. One owner had the car for 38 years, then sold twice since 2010. Car underwent a frame-on restoration in 1989 (same year I graduated from high school).
It is an original red/red car. I have some interesting documentation including a hand written story from the 1972-2010 owner on how he came upon the car and what he did with it (drove it daily until 1976 and then it sat in his garage for many years).
The owner I bought the car from was an elderly gentleman who took the time to type up (on a TYPEWRITER!) a story about he found the car and fell in love with it. He's a Cadillac guy though and sold it to me to purchase a 58 Caddy.
It's pretty neat to look at the restoration receipts from the late 80s. From what I can tell, the owner paid roughly $28,000 to "restore" it. I'm not sure if there might be more receipts I haven't found yet.
I'm a Camaro guy who always wanted a Corvette, so I've got a lot to learn. For example, you'll note that all the pictures have the hard top installed. That's because I haven't figured out how to remove it yet! I'll get there.
