I have a need to carefully add (R-12) "yes I have a can left" to my '93 Corvette. Can anyone tell me where (on the car) to attach my refill hose? I have done this on passenger cars and found that the locations vary greatly.

Don't add too much or you can ruin the compressor. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Do not know about the 1993 Corvette, however my 1985's service manual on air conditioning only specifies a "feel test" to tell you when the charge is enough. I really like using my 70's sight glass a lot better.- Top

Feel test is very accurate if you understand it. Undercharged or over charged the evaporator pipe will feel cool, when you reach the proper charge, the pipe will cold, a very sharp feeling cold.. It is hard to describe, but you can tell the difference. Do not add any more refrigerant once the pipe turns cold.Dick Whittington- Top

Dick this information is taken from my 1985 Corvette Shop Manual. If the inlet pipe to the evaporator is cooler than the accumulator surface this is a indication of low charge of refrigerant. Add slight amounts of 16 oz or 1/4 lb until both feel same temp. Allow stabilization time between additions. Then add 420 ml (.88 lbs) or one can additional refrigerant. I am still trying to learn this "feel test" on my 1985 Corvette.- Top
